Christophe Mérieux Centre of Infectiology

Dr Ot Manolin graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Health Sciences of Laos in 1972. He subsequently completed six years of post-graduate studies in Pharmacy and Drug Analysis at the State Institute of Medicine in Zaporojie.

He began working at the Lao Ministry of Health in 1978. As the Deputy Director of Food and Drug Quality Control, Dr. Manolin has attended numerous international training sessions on drug analysis and production.

In conjunction with his position at the Christophe Mérieux Center of Infectiology (Laos), Dr. Manolin teaches students in the Pharmacy and Dentistry programs at the University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Phimpha Paboriboune is a physician and the Scientific Director of the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory of Laos. She is a graduate of the University of Health Sciences of Laos. In 2005, she was awarded a Master’s degree in Tropical Medicine and Epidemiology at the French-Language Institute for Tropical Medicine (IFMT).

She has received training in laboratory techniques at the Emerging Pathogens Laboratory in Lyon, France, and at the Christophe Mérieux Center of Molecular Biology and Microsystems in Grenoble. She further studied laboratory techniques related to tuberculosis at the Lyon-Sud Hospital, HIV at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris, and parasitology a the Croix-Rousse Hospital in Lyon. She is currently completing her Ph.D.

As Scientific Director of the Christophe Mérieux Infectiology Center of Laos, Dr. Phimpha Paboriboune pursues her professional training on infectious diseases, notably on tuberculosis, HIV, and influenza, through sessions provided by our partner laboratories.
